Subject: Official Request for Emergency Humanitarian Assistance for Aceh Province, Indonesia
Dear Respected Humanitarian Partners,
On behalf of Relawan Peduli Rakyat Lintas Batas (Volunteers Caring for the People Without Borders), we respectfully submit this formal request for emergency humanitarian assistance to support the people of Aceh, who are currently experiencing a rapidly escalating humanitarian crisis caused by severe flooding and consecutive landslides across multiple districts.
The scale of the disaster has exceeded both local and national response capacities. Thousands of residents remain isolated, essential health services have been severely disrupted, and critical infrastructure has sustained extensive damage. According to internationally recognized humanitarian indicators, the situation now qualifies as a large-scale emergency requiring immediate international mobilization.
Current Humanitarian Situation
Thousands of families are stranded without access to safe evacuation routes
Acute shortages of clean water, food, essential medicines, and relief items
High risk of infectious disease outbreaks due to contamination and overcrowding
Health facilities operating at limited capacity due to inadequate medical supplies
Road access severely impeded by landslides, collapsed bridges, and damaged transportation routes
As a local first responder with established networks and on-the-ground access, Relawan Peduli Rakyat Lintas Batas (Volunteers Caring for the People Without Borders) has been actively conducting field assessments, coordinating community evacuations, distributing immediate relief, and providing verified field data to guide humanitarian interventions.
Types of Assistance Urgently Needed
Emergency water purification systems and clean water supply
Ready-to-eat meals and nutritional support
International medical teams, mobile clinics, and temporary field hospitals
Family tents, blankets, hygiene kits, and essential non-food items
Sanitation facilities to prevent disease transmission
Air and ground logistical support for trapped and isolated communities
Deployment of rapid UN assessment and response teams (MIRA/RRM)
Rationale for Funding Support
Without rapid humanitarian funding and operational support, the risk of mortality will increase significantly, disease outbreaks will intensify, and access to affected areas will become increasingly constrained. Immediate assistance will ensure timely lifesaving interventions and prevent further deterioration of conditions on the ground.
