Kapolri Jenderal Polisi Drs. Listyo Sigit Prabowo menyatakan bahwa Indonesia harus berada di rangking yang lebih tinggi dalam tingkat kesetaraan gender dibandingkan negara lain. Sebab, kesetaraan gender di Indonesia telah dimulai sejak masa RA Kartini. Selasa (17/12/2024).
Menurut Jenderal Sigit, saat ini Indonesia berada di urutan ke-9 kesetaraan gender dibandingkan Negara Asia Timur dan Pasifik. Sedangkan di tingkat dunia berada di urutan ke-87 dari 146 negara.
“Indonesia sedang menuju visi Indonesia Emas 2045 tentunya harapan kita pada saat nanti dilaksanakan lagi survey oleh World Economic Forum posisi Indonesia juga bisa menjadi nomer 4 nomer 5 terkait dengan masalah setaraan gender, itu tentunya cita-cita kita bersama,” ungkap Kapolri dalam sambutan di acara Gender Mainstreaming Insight: Equality in Action, Insight in Policy.
Jenderal Sigit optimis bahwa dengan adanya Direktorat PPA dan PPO akan semakin menggelorakan realisasi kesetaraan gender.
“Ini tentunya kita harapkan bisa kita wujudkan kalau Direktorat TPPA dan TPPO yang saat ini kita perjuangkan di Kemenpan RB ini ini betul-betul kita wujudkan,” jelas Kapolri.
