The international humanitarian organisation Volunteers Caring for the People Across Borders has declared that Swedish activist Greta Thunberg represents the true spirit of global peace and justice, making her the most deserving figure for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize.
Arizal Mahdi, Chairman of the organisation, stated that Greta Thunberg’s struggle goes far beyond environmental activism. She embodies a universal fight for justice, truth, and moral courage in an era when humanity’s conscience is fading.
“Greta Thunberg stands as a moral compass for humanity. While many remain silent in the face of oppression and genocide, she speaks the truth with integrity and fearless conviction,” said Arizal Mahdi.
He added that the true meaning of peace has been eroded by political interests and ceremonial awards that no longer reflect genuine compassion or human solidarity.
“The world does not need another glittering prize. What the world needs is justice for all. Greta’s voice reminds us that peace can never exist without justice,” he continued.
The statement also highlighted ongoing humanitarian crises, particularly the genocide against the people of Palestine, where thousands of innocent lives continue to be lost under systematic violence. The organisation reaffirmed its solidarity with all oppressed nations and called upon world leaders to act with conscience rather than political convenience.
“Greta Thunberg is more than an activist; she is the light in humanity’s darkest hour, a symbol of hope for generations that still believe in justice and truth,” concluded Arizal Mahdi.
Volunteers Caring for the People Across Borders, also known as Relawan Peduli Rakyat Lintas Batas, is an independent humanitarian organisation based in Bireuen, Indonesia. The organisation operates globally to defend human rights, promote peace, and end oppression in all its forms. Its mission is to unite people across nations through the values of justice, compassion, and truth.
