The Head of the Bireuen Regency Branch Council (DPC) of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI Perjuangan / PDI-P), Munzir (Mandala), inspected and coordinated the cleanup of residents’ homes affected by a landslide in Blang Rheum Village, Jeumpa Sub-district, Bireuen Regency, Aceh, on Monday (26 January 2026).
The landslide resulted in several homes and residential access routes being buried by soil, disrupting daily community activities. To accelerate the restoration of the affected area, the cleanup was carried out using heavy machinery in the form of an excavator to remove accumulated soil and debris from residential zones.
During the operation, members of the PDI-P volunteer team from Bireuen Regency were present on site, providing non-technical assistance, helping to organise the work area, and ensuring that activities around the location proceeded in an orderly and safe manner. Their presence formed part of a collective effort to support the smooth implementation of the cleanup process on the ground.
Munzir (Mandala) remained at the site to ensure that the cleanup proceeded in line with on-site requirements. The inspection focused on technical arrangements to prevent further risks, while also ensuring that cleared areas were safe for nearby residents.
All stages of the cleanup prioritised public safety, given that soil conditions in the surrounding area remained potentially unstable following the landslide.
The activity reflects the concern of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) for residents affected by floods, landslides, and mud, particularly communities experiencing the direct impact of natural disasters in the area.
Local residents welcomed the gradual and well-coordinated cleanup process. They expressed hope that the work would be completed promptly so that homes and surrounding environments could be used again, while minimising the risk of further landslide-related hazards.
Throughout the cleanup operation, conditions at the site remained stable. Ongoing monitoring of the surrounding environment continued as a precautionary measure during the post-disaster recovery process.
