Universitas Almuslim in Bireuen, Aceh, held the inauguration ceremony of its English Club on Thursday, 17 April 2025, at Aula R.1, East Campus. The event was attended by a variety of distinguished guests. Dr. Marwan M.Pd, Rector of Universitas Almuslim, was represented by Dr. drh. Zulfikar M.Si, Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni. The event, themed “Emphasize and Embellish Our Skills with Art and Joy”, was initiated by Dr. Silvi Listia Dewi M.Pd, Head of the English Language Study Program.
In her address, Dr. Silvi Listia Dewi M.Pd emphasized the importance of establishing communities such as the English Club for students in the English Language Study Program. She highlighted that the club offers a platform for students to build their self-confidence in using English, both in formal academic settings and external forums.
“Through the English Club, students will not only refine their English language skills but will also develop creativity and critical thinking through various media, arts, and projects addressing contemporary social issues,” stated Dr. Silvi.
A Vision for Collaboration and Creativity
The ceremony was also attended by various officials, including Drs. Faizin M.Pd, Head of Public Relations at Universitas Almuslim, faculty members of the English Language Study Program, and enthusiastic students who actively participated in the event.
In his remarks, Dr. drh. Zulfikar M.Si expressed his pride in the establishment of the English Club, calling the English Language Study Program “The Best.” He hopes the club will foster collaboration not only within the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) but also across all faculties at Universitas Almuslim. “This is an excellent opportunity to create a community that is both creative and inclusive,” he commented.
Zulfikar further encouraged the faculty and students of the English Language Study Program to continue their efforts by establishing an “English Area” on campus to further enhance English literacy among students.

Arizal Mahdi, Chairman of Relawan Peduli Rakyat Lintas Batas, expressed his full support for the establishment of the English Club. He commended the initiative as a significant step toward the development of students’ talents and leadership skills. He emphasized the importance of English in opening up global opportunities for Indonesian youth. His presence at the event underscored the organization’s commitment to education and youth empowerment throughout Indonesia.
