Halal Bilhalal at Almuslim University Strengthens Camaraderie among Lecturers and Academic Staff

On the first working day following the Eid al-Fitr 1446 H holiday, Almuslim University (Umuslim), Bireuen, Aceh, held a Halal Bilhalal gathering aimed at strengthening bonds among its academic community. The event took place on Tuesday, 8 April 2025, at Lecture Hall 1, East Campus, featuring a religious sermon by the Chair of the Bireuen Regency Ulama Consultative Council (MPU) and Grand Imam of the Sultan Jeumpa Grand Mosque, Tgk. Saifuddin, S.HI., M.A.

The event was officially opened by the Rector of Almuslim University, Dr. Marwan, M.Pd., who expressed his appreciation for the presence of the university’s key figures, including the Chair of the Almuslim Foundation Board of Trustees, Rusydi Mukhtar, S.Sos.; the Chair of the Foundation, Tgk. Munawar Yusuf; the Chair of the Supervisory Board, H. Mukhlis Amus, M.Si.; Director of the Postgraduate Programme, Prof. Dr. Halus Satriawan, M.Sc.; Vice Rectors; Deans; Head of LPPM; Bureau Heads; as well as all lecturers and academic staff.

In a warm and harmonious atmosphere, the Rector extended his sincere apologies for any shortcomings or missteps during his leadership. He hoped that the Halal Bilhalal moment would serve as a medium to strengthen unity and harmony within the university.

“Let us reweave our bonds of brotherhood and kinship with sincerity and a spirit of togetherness. Let there be no falsehoods among us,” he said.

The Rector also urged lecturers to proactively prepare and submit research and community service grant proposals through Umuslim’s LPPM for the 2025 programme offered by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (Kemdikti Saintek) of the Republic of Indonesia. He noted that success in securing these grants would not only enhance institutional capacity but also directly benefit the welfare of lecturers.

Additionally, he informed that the period from 20 March to 19 April 2025 marks the democratic process of electing deans for all faculties at Umuslim for the 2025–2029 term. This process will be conducted in accordance with regulations from Kemdikti Saintek, directives from the Head of LLDikti Region XIII Aceh, the Almuslim Foundation Statute, and Rector’s Regulations.

Meanwhile, the Chair of the Almuslim Foundation Board of Trustees, Rusydi Mukhtar, S.Sos., in his address, emphasised the importance of work ethic and initiative in upholding the university’s academic pillars.

“Do not wait for orders. Be active and independent in your respective fields of expertise. We must maintain our reputation as the Best Private University in Aceh,” he affirmed.

He also stated that if the permit for establishing a Faculty of Medicine is granted by Kemdikti Saintek, Umuslim will begin accepting new medical students in the 2025/2026 academic year.

The highlight of the event was a sermon delivered by Tgk. Saifuddin, S.HI., M.A., who stressed the significance of Halal Bilhalal as an Islamic tradition that fosters unity, strengthens bonds of brotherhood, and nurtures mutual care among individuals.

“After Eid al-Fitr, let us forgive one another sincerely. We are all brothers since the time of the prophets. In a multicultural environment like Umuslim, let us respect each other, work together, and reinforce our sense of family,” he expressed.

The event concluded in a solemn and meaningful atmosphere, strengthening camaraderie and collaborative spirit among the academic community of Almuslim University in their pursuit of a brighter future.
